Music Program

Our music director, Kathleen Tracy, has a background in folk and blues but she enjoys exploring all musical styles. She plays several instruments, including guitar, ukelele, charango, mbira, and marimba. Kathleen conducts the choir with great spirit and musicianship and likes to help all participants feel good about their singing.

There are opportunities for musicians of all levels to share their talents during our Sunday services and other celebrations. We have a marimba ensemble, a Celtic ensemble, a jazz & swing ensemble, a polka band, a recorder group, and other pick-up groups. Please contact Kathleen if you have music to share or questions about our music program!

CHOIR REHEARSALS Thursdays at 7:15 pm

The choir is open to all members and friends who love to sing. We rehearse most Thursdays from 7:15 to 9 pm. If you have questions about choir, talk with Kathleen. The choir takes a break during the summer months of July and August, and will resume rehearsals on Thurs, Sept 4 at 7:15 pm.

CHALICE PALACE Performing Arts Coffeehouse

Several times a year RVUUC holds a "Chalice Palace" — our performance venue for all aspects of the creative arts. Members and friends bring poetry, song, storytelling, dance, or visual art to share in a supportive space. The next Chal Pal will be in October 2008. Performance sign-up is at 7:30 pm. Questions? Talk with Kathleen.

Looking for a band for your special event? Consider hiring RVUUC’s own marimba ensemble Nzira! Nzira plays Zimbabwe style marimba music, suitable for all festive occasions.
